Hope For Justice
Hope for Justice is an international nonprofit whose mission is to end modern day slavery through education and intervention.
THE NEED
With the inception of their U.S. branch, Hope for Justice wanted scalable online courses that could get their message in front of a diverse audience of parents, industry professionals, and concerned citizens.
And most importantly, Hope for Justice needed trainings to be powerful and engaging enough to motivate individuals to take immediate action.
Where we began
In partnership with Hope for Justice’s subject matter experts and stakeholders, we narrowed down the must-have elements for this unique and important course launch.
All courses needed to:
Evoke understanding, compassion, and empathy for victims of trafficking and exploitation
Create awareness that trafficking and exploitation doesn’t just happen to “other people” but impacts vulnerable individuals in our own backyard
Instill hope and empowerment—everyone has a role to play in this important cause and everyone can take immediate action
We agreed that the best solution for their series of online courses was to design the content around immersive, relevant, and true stories of human trafficking and online exploitation.
Where we ended up
We created a sequence of courses for Hope for Justice and their partners to launch to U.S. target audiences.
To evoke learner empathy, debunk myths and misconceptions, and teach how to spot the common signs of predatory behavior and victimization, courses included:
Interactive media-rich scenarios, based on true U.S. stories of trafficking and exploitation
Key U.S. and global statistics
Video explanations from human trafficking expert investigators and trainers discussing true cases
Access to additional guides and resources to empower learners to act to prevent trafficking and exploitation

It was created in partnership with:
Big wins
After previewing, 250+ individuals have pledged to take the online exploitation course: Keeping Kids Safe in the Digital World.
The course suite launch coincides with U.S. legislation seeking to prevent trafficking and protect victims (Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act).
Law enforcement and healthcare experts have said the scenario-based nature of these courses is unique and actionable.
